Jim Morrison on Stage

Born in 1943, Jim became the vocalist of the legendary 1960’s band ‘The Doors’. Regarded by many as a tortured poet, he struggled with drink and drug addiction for most of his life as a celebrity.  In 1991, interest in him was popularized with the release of the biopic of his life at the cinema entitled ‘The Doors’, directed by Oliver Stone and starred Val Kilmer as Jim. Their last album ‘L.A. Woman’ was released in 1970 shortly before he moved to Paris with his long suffering girlfriend Pamela Courson.  He was said to have died of heart failure in 1971 but more recent revelations have suggested that it was a heroin overdose at the age of 27.
